FULL VIEW

Think back.. think back long and hard.. can any of us clearly remember our FIRST original character?

I'm talking back.. wwaayyy back... for those of us who got into anime.. through possibly Pokemon.. or Sailor Moon... Dragon Ball.. Voltron, Thunder Cats, Slayers, Speed Racer! Any of them.. or ones I have not mentioned.. and thinking " Dang... I want to create a character for that series! It's just too cool! " (( or maybe not as corny as that, but you get my drift.. ))

I remember being around 13 or so.. maybe younger.. when I got into Sailor Moon on TV ( yes the american version ) and I worked long and hard with a good friend of mine, and we created Original Characters... our own.. Senshi.. for our own story..... and we roleplayed them and we did things with them.. I remember most of her attacks.. everything..

But as time went on.. I slowly lost contact with her..... and even more.. I began to grow up.. (( physically.. never mentally ))

But even then, some of us still remember.. the beginning......sorta

I suppose my character Sailor Zodiac.. holds a lot of personal things for me..

She holds my memories of my youth..

She holds my name when I wandered around Anime Capsule X .. an rpg chat forum.. and the memories of all my friends there I have all but lost contact with over the years except for.. I think a small handful I still know to this day..

She holds my n00bish ways of rpg world... and the memories of sketching her in school and plotting what she would do next, or her next Fuku..

Infact when I was cleaning my room.. I stumbled upon one of my first sketchbooks.. and found one of my first sketches of her ( horrible traced and altered might I ad ) and began to search.. starting to remember things I had forgotten..

I found a picture of her I had done when I was around.. 15 or so.. and decided... it was time for me to draw her once again.. my way of not forgetting.. you know?


Even today as I am ...an adult by age standard and hold over 50 original characters... she is still one of the ones that I remember the most and started... she was the beginning of my original character designing and planning and what I am going off to college to become.. a story board designer/ character designer/ animator.. so I guess I can say she started my future.

So I guess I am back to square one when I ask this question...

Done with mechanical pencil, multiliner and Photoshop 6.0... took around 3 hours. while watching the Iron Chef..

Damn it's almost 4 am.. no wonder I am in a weird mood XD
